A few things happening:

I have 4 pieces going into the Brunswick St Gallery group show ‘Picture This’ in a few weeks. Show runs 11-24 Sep and the opening/prizes are on 18 Sep, if you want to take a peek.

This week my Holga gallery got a mention over on Take Nothing But Polaroids, which is a fantastic photography blog devoted to all things lo-fi. Sophie posts some great stuff, so check it out. She’s also running an awesome disposable camera swap project, which I’m on-board with (Laura, you will dig this.)

Gave blood today… no dramas, apart from them giving me a donor keyring for the wrong blood type (I’m O neg) and whoever gets my blood will probably have a hangover.

Spent the weekend checking out the Js’ Hottest 100 of All Time on the wireless as your Nanna would (and mine did) say. Lot of great music, few travesties, all good times. Had a baked dinner with the girls yesterday, spent Saturday with the boys redecorating and doing what boys do best (sinking homebrew like it’s fucking Pearl Harbour.)

New home office, check it out…

Friday night caught Phrase & Funkoars at the Corner, awesome gig. Highlight was seeing dudes get a boost to put slaps on the mirrorballs, lowlight was seeing a boozed up hater get dragged out by his throat after spitting on the bartender and trying to jump the bar for a punch on. Dude needs to chill.

After the gig headed cityside to meet up with friends at Fashion Keyboard. Good music, good friends, beer… what else is there? Dropped H & Heidi off at the airport Sat. morning with a bit of a sore head. Them’s the breaks.

BSG small works show is over and done with now, have to go pick up the shots this week. Didn’t win or sell anything, but that’s no big. Winners are here, shit photo of my entries is below. The one on the left is already promised to a colleague, the others are up for grabs if anyone wants ‘em.

Colour Factory/CCP award is also done. Didn’t win, no big. Haven’t got the set I submitted anywhere handy, unfortunately. 10 shots, all B&W, outdoors, at night & candid. Statement was a bit a of a spiel about how memories and photos are linked, might post it up someday.

I broke my 50mm prime last week, which sucks. Was walking along and the strap got caught on a bench, ripped the camera out of my hand. Lucky it’s a cheap lens and I’m only out about $150, but still nothing to sneeze at.

Kings Way out today. Picking mine up tomorrow hopefully.

Monday night had a few wines and pig&pea soup with Joe, Caz, Tess & Ben, and hooked up the projector to a laptop & WACOM tablet. A lot of fun & got some great shots, below is one of my faves. Projection is my dad about 20 years ago… he barely looks a day older. The dude has some serious Dorian Gray shit going on.

Time for a blunt & bed… worked 35 hours in the last 3 days. Ciao kids.
